Sponge Homer

Homer H. Hillis, Jr. sponges all kinds of information, business, political and trends. I've been seen on the Sally Jesse Rafeal show with noted trend spotter Faith Popcorn. My Blog will give you an over view of what I'm seeing and reflections on the same.

Hi from New Delhi India, I arrived last night but my luggage is delayed a few days. Somewhere between Houston and New Delhi my cloths are located.
The trip was great. I'm reading Crazy Horse and Custer, by Ambrose. It's a super book, highly recommeded.
All is well in India its exploding in growth! All the area's that I saw 10yrs ago where waste lands now they are high rise buildings everywhere.
My friend Ayush Khattar a 5th grader is my personal guide here today. We are having
great time.
India and China are 2 hot topics in American politics and they will be for a long time.
More later, now I'm looking for XL clothing here.

The Positive Force
Everyone should know Floyd Miller. His Blog The Positive Force is a great place to get baptized in a good pool of positive thoughts--and who couldn't use some these days.

I met Floyd just a few hours after I landed in Abilene and I'm sure glad I did!

"The longer I live the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing that we can do is to play on the one string we have and that is our attitude… I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you… we are in charge of our attitudes."

The US invaded Iraq looking for mass weapons programs-so far none have been found. I'm amazed at people who refer to Bill Clinton as substantiating this war. Most Republicans will say that Bill Clinton said the same things as George W. Bush. Most of these people would never attribute any truth coming from Bill Clinton but when its in there best interest they use Bill Clinton. While R's where chasing Bill all over the white House for stanied dresses and our national attention was diverted to a sex scandal Al Queda was training and planning attacks on the USA. I believe some accused Clinton of diversion when he took action to bomb a weapons plant in North Africa.

I've learned something about Frequent Flyer Programs today: They stink. The rules are such that they now are charging me for upgrading with my miles almost as much as I can buy a ticket for. And when I call there's usually no upgradable seats. OH BOY! All these miles and can't use them.

Last weekend we had our managers from the Friendze stores www.friendze.com in Abilene for our pep up and go get'um rally. It was a great time, and we came up with some new directions for our company. Jesse is filling our 18' trailer with beads and in a few weeks we'll launch it as: Beading Across America. Going from town to town with exclusive beads for our wholesale customers.

Future Invention: I suspect the day is coming when you and I will be able to
purchase a device that sucks the "carbs" our of food. Much like a microwave sucks the flavor out. I've got a name for this if anyone needs it: Carb-or-ator!
