Sponge Homer

Homer H. Hillis, Jr. sponges all kinds of information, business, political and trends. I've been seen on the Sally Jesse Rafeal show with noted trend spotter Faith Popcorn. My Blog will give you an over view of what I'm seeing and reflections on the same.

Yahoo! News - House Votes to Block Aid for Saudi Arabia: "WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Lawmakers cheered as the House of Representatives voted on Thursday to strip financial assistance for Saudi Arabia from a foreign aid bill because of criticism that the country has not been sufficiently cooperative in the U.S. war on terror.

The vote was a stinging defeat for the Bush Administration which had strongly opposed the measure saying it would 'severely undermine' counterterrorism cooperation with Saudi Arabia and U.S. efforts for peace in the Middle East.
The House voted 217-191 to remove $25,000 in the $19.4 billion 2005 foreign aid bill earmarked for Saudi Arabia. "
I don't know about you but cutting $25,000 out of a $19.4billion dollar doesn't seem like very much punishment to me?  I guess it would be like rufusing to buy them a Snickers candy bar or some M&M's.
And why are we sending $19.4 billion to Saudi Arabia in the first place? Look at the price of gas these days, they are rolling in the dough.
